Front Runners has been an active running and cycling club for gays, lesbians, and LGBT-friendly athletes for more than a quarter-century. We are affiliated with New York Road Runners (NYRR) and run as a club in the many races sponsored by NYRR throughout the five boroughs, particularly in Central Park. We encourage runners of all abilities to join the club and experience the vast social, fitness, and training benefits of membership.
The club's activities are run by the Board of Directors, elected every year as required by the Club's bylaws. The 2008 Board is shown below.
Front Runners New York is also affiliated with FastnFab and NY Tritons clubs.
Fast and Fabulous is an LGBT cycling advocacy group that has weekly rides throughout the city and beyond. The club's members have monthly dinners and ride in bike tours and centuries, do bike repair workshops, escort wheelchair marathoners and teach kids how to ride, among other activities. New York Tritons is a triathlon club that formed after several New York triathletes competed at the 1998 Gay Games in Amsterdam. Members participate in triathlons (sprint, olympic, international, 1/2 iron and iron distances) all over the country and the world. NY Tritons and FastnFab usually have a representative attend the FRNY board meetings.
