Front Runners New York is named after the best-selling novel The Front Runner, by Patricia Nell Warren. It is an inspiring story between an ex-Marine coach training three highly gifted runners for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. The plot gets complicated when the closeted gay coach falls in love with his most gifted athlete.
