Every year, there is a membership picnic held during the spring and the fall. It is an event where members have the opportunity to be social and meet someone they have never met before.

The picnics are normally held at a park in Manhattan. The Board provides BBQ, sandwiches, and the proper fixings. Members are asked to bring appetizers, beverages, and desserts.

Informal games such as three-legged races, frisbee, relay races, and board games are normally played by members. It's basically a day to enjoy the beautiful day in a park with other Front Runners. Partners, children, and friends are more than welcome to attend as well.

The first membership picnic was back in 1982, when FRNY members took a trip to Jones Beach for the day during the summer.
