There are several volunteering opportunities for members and friends. We normally volunteer at least once a month for the NYRR races. The biggest volunteering event is hosting the 24th mile water station in Central Park for the annual New York City Marathon.

Other volunteering opportunities include:

• Weekly Saturday morning brunches
• Annual Pride Run preparations
• NYC Marathon Pancake Breakfast preparations
• NYC Marathon Pasta Dinner preparations
• Blue Line Run support
• Website design/support
• Rapture on the River dance
• Driving for Reach the Beach relay participants
• Annual Indoor Track Meet preparations/registration
• Annual Cross Country Meet preparations/registration
• Pacing or timing other members at NYRR races or workouts.

Front Runners New York is truly grateful for its volunteers. Without them, the organization would not be where it is today. Each year, the member who goes above and beyond in volunteering his/her time for the club is honored with the Guy Zelenak Award, one of the two top Front Runners New York awards given at the annual Awards Dinner.
