From spring to fall, members normally do running intervals at Central Park once a week. Members will train at various sections of the Park (Harlem Hill, Cat Hill, Bridle Path, etc.) and focus on proper running technique and form.
If you plan to race in Central Park for the NYRR Races, going to these workouts at Central Park may be helpful. Members work on speed, pacing, and running running uphill/downhilll at various speeds and distances.
Sample workout would be:
Warm-up from 72nd street transverse to reservoir
Running drills on the grass
Hill repeats on Cat Hill
Two 200m sprint repeats on 72nd street transverse
Cooldown jog from 72nd street transverse to bagwatch.
These workouts have been held either on a Tuesday evening or Thursday evening (please check the calendar.) These workouts are more based on effort than time/distance. All members are welcome to attend. Make sure to bring a bottle of water or sports drink!
